All Factory split PermaCast columns are shipped with a split kit which
includes: a 12 oz. tube of adhesive , zip tie straps, alumninum fastening plates, and all screws needed.
Column Installation Kit
The new HB&G column installation kit includes 5 brackets (2-top, 3-bottom) and all required hardware. This kit will help secure the top and bottom of the columns.
Second Story Installation Brackets
The HB&G second story porch installation kit includes 3 brackets and all required hardware. The bracket fits 20" - 30" plain round PermaCast columns and will secure a 2nd story porch to our PermaCast columns. 3 brackets are required for each column

Consistancy and Appearance
“Not all Square Fiberglass Columns are Equal”---HB&G is one of the few
manufactures of a true “spun” fiberglass square column, which is made
the same way as HB&G’s Round PermaCast® Columns. Most of the other
square fiberglass columns are pultruded fiberglass columns which don’t offer
the same wall thickness or architecturally square corners that HB&G can
produce. Make sure that you’re getting a true spun square fiberglass column
vs. a pultrusion.
Column Wall Thickness
Columns are the distinguishing mark on a home’s exterior. With HB&G’s
PermaCast® Columns, you will have a more consistent appearance from
column to column due to the latest technology that’s used in our production
facility in Troy, Alabama. The wall of each column maintains the same thickness
assuring there are no weak spots, and more fiberglass makes HB&G columns
stronger than the competition.
Ease of Installation
HB&G offers two installation kits that make installing PermaCast® columns
easier than ever. The column installation kit is sold separately and can be
used to install all PermaCast® columns. The split column installation kit
comes with all factory split columns and includes everything needed to install
a split PermaCast® column. All column and installation kits include easy to
follow installation instructions.
Paintability
HB&G does not use additives or coatings that interfere with paint adhesion,
there are no sanding scars or need to sand PermaCast® Columns. HB&G caps
and bases are primed and ready to paint. All that is needed with HB&G’s
PermaCast® Columns, caps and bases is to remorve any excess dust or dirt
from the surface prior to painting.
